Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool - Copy Files Error

 

Downloaded the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool to create a bootable USB pendrive and it failed with the error message “Unable to copy files…”

 

• Run “diskpart” from a command prompt with admin rights
• list disk
• select disk # (the number of your USB)
• clean
• create partition primary
• select partition 1
• active

In case below last 2 steps wont work. Eject USB drive and plug in after 10sec again. Drive should format ok from your window explorer with no problem.

• format quick fs=fat32
• assign

Run again the MS tool, it will copy files fine now!
