How To: Disable Windows from turning off your USB devices

Open Device Manager or type devmgmt.msc in your Start/Run

Find and expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Look for any USB Root Hub. 

Double Click and in the Power Management tab deselect the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

You can do this to any USB device with Power Management tab!
