Check Point 2200 Appliance: How to Reset to factory settings and/or change WebUI IP from


As you already noticed the pin at the front of the appliance is disabled for security reason.

If you need to reset back to factory settings, in case the WebUI is not working due to Cypher error etc on your browser.


Note: Try EDGE browser on windows 10 if you can not access WebUI under normal other browsers.

Its due to a security patch and TLS related protocol.
This might solve your problem before you go into deeper waters...


To connect to CLI use the provided Serial to Cat45 cable from your PC serial port to the Console port at the front of the appliance

Download and open PUTTY. Select Serial port and go to serial port on the left menu and select NONE at the Flow Control drop down menu

Select open and the terminal window will start (on the main screen you should have selected serial as mentioned)

Turn on the appliance.

*** Wait and watch carefuly for a message stating that you have 5 seconds to press any key to enter BOOT menu. Dont miss it!!! Or you need to wait for another reboot. (you can keep terminal on)

Once you see below menu, wait (as it is slow) every time you press down arrow until the version you want is selected.

Then once highlighted , press ENTER and type YES

Now wait for restore process to finish!






NOTE: If you need to change the default IP 192.168.1.1 to your network IP address follow below steps.

Keep terminal open during above process... (below works on Gaia R75.40 version)

Once you see the login:
Enter admin & admin
then type:

Show interfaces (you will see all interfaces)

Then

Set interface Mgmt ipv4-address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx mask-length /24
(enter length as per your network - 24 for 255)

Set interface Mgmt state on (or off to turn on or off the inteface - you will notice lights are off when state is off the corresponding port at the front of the appliance)
