This is a very particular laptop. I can see online many owners have prob after installing clean windows etc.
Unless there is a HW problem or disconnected touchpad cable from the motherboard your "problem" is related purely to this laptop configuration.
***NOTE***:
If you did a clean OS install DO NOT try to install any touchpad driver
- Enter your BIOS, look for the TOUCHPAD option in advanced. Make sure BASIC is enabled.
If ADVANCED is selected change to basic.
NOTE: With the BASIC bios setting the touchpad works fine, you will see the cursor etc. so you can do what is needed. Also you can use a simple usb mouse.
- Go to your OS and install the IO Drivers Intel as its needed for using the ADVANCED Touchpad bios option (also a warning in the BIOS of what is needed prior using it and installing a touchpad driver)
- Then you can change to your bios to use the ADVANCED Touchpad option and then in OS you can install the correct advanced driver for it.
TIP
I use the BASIC driver and installed the Synaptics driver for mine, cursor, scroll etc all work ok.
